European Payroll Specialist / Lohn- und Gehaltsabrechner (m/f/d)

Wie Sie einen Mehrwert schaffen

In dieser Rolle werden Sie die Lohn- und Gehaltsabrechnung in mehreren zugewiesenen Ländern überwachen, in Zusammenarbeit mit dem ADP-Abrechnungsanbieter und in enger Kooperation mit unserer Personalabteilung. Die Rolle berichtet an den European Payroll Manager mit Sitz in UK und kann entweder in Leipzig oder Griesheim bei Darmstadt angesiedelt sein.

Das sind Ihre Aufgaben

• Vorbereitung und Bereitstellung der monatlichen Gehaltsabrechnungsdaten für ADP sowie Jahresabschlussarbeiten für die zugewiesenen Länder Deutschland und Schweiz sowie Unterstützung/ Vertretung für Frankreich und Belgien.
• Hauptansprechpartner für Mitarbeitende in Gehaltsabrechnungsangelegenheiten. Zeitnahe Beantwortung von Anfragen zu Gehaltsabrechnungen von internen und externen Quellen.
• Unterstützung bei der Entwicklung von Richtlinien und Verfahren für den Gehaltsabrechnungsprozess und Dokumentation von SOPs (Standard operational processes) für alle operativen Gehaltsabrechnungsprozesse.
• Sicherstellung, dass alle Gehaltsabrechnungsaktivitäten fristgerecht abgeschlossen werden, Prüfung der Zeiterfassungsdaten, Urlaubs- und Krankheitsrückstellungen sowie Überstunden auswerten.
• Zusammenarbeit mit Gehaltsabrechnungs- und Compliance-Dienstleistern sowie dem Rechnungswesen, um alle behördlichen Meldepflichten für Lohnsteuern, Sozialversicherungs- und Arbeitgeberbeiträge fristgerecht zu erfüllen.
• Unterstützung bei Datenanfragen für Audits sowie von unserer HR- und Finanzabteilung, wie z. B. Anfragen zu den Lohn- und Gehaltskonten,, Mitarbeiterauswertungen sowie statistische Auswertungen für die Unfallversicherung, Schwerbehindertenabgabe und Lebensversicherung.
• Fachwissen über länderspezifische Arbeitsgesetze, Steuer- und Sozialversicherungsrechte anwenden und kommunizieren können. Identifizierung und Behebung potenzieller Risiken in der Gehaltsabrechnung.
• Unterstützung bei anderen zugewiesenen Aufgaben und Projekten aus dem Bereich Abrechnung.

Das bringen Sie mit

• Abgeschlossene kaufmännische Ausbildung mit zusätzlicher oder weiterführender Ausbildung in der Personalabrechnung oder Bachelorabschluss in Finanzen oder Rechnungswesen mit Spezialisierung auf Personalabrechnung.
• Mehrjährige Erfahrung in der Abrechnung von Lohn und Gehalt.
• Erste Erfahrungen mit ADP bevorzugt. Erfahrung mit Workday wünschenswert.
• Sehr gute Kenntnisse des deutschen Steuerrechtes sowie der Sozialversicherungsvorschriften. Arbeitsrechtliche Kenntnisse von Vorteil.
• Gute Kenntnisse der schweizerischen Gehaltsabrechnung sowie der schweizerischen Sozialversicherungs- und Rentenregelungen und Reglementen von Vorteil.
• Beherrschung von Microsoft Office, einschließlich fortgeschrittener Kenntnisse in Microsoft Excel im Umgang mit großen Datenmengen, Formeln und Pivot-Tabellen.
• Sehr gute Deutschkenntnisse und gute Englischkenntnisse; Französischkenntnisse sind von Vorteil.
• Proaktive, motivierte und ergebnisorientierte Person, die entschlossen ist, Ziele zu erreichen.
• Hohe Genauigkeit und Präzision, sowie Diskretion und eine hohe Affinität zu Zahlen.
• Fähigkeit sowohl selbstständig als auch im Team zu arbeiten und Informationen zu kommunizieren sowie aktiv mit anderen im globalen Team zu interagieren.
• Starke Organisations- und Planungsfähigkeiten.
• Ausgeprägte Fähigkeit, Aufgaben zu priorisieren und den Tagesablauf zu strukturieren.
• Nachgewiesene analytische sowie problemlösende Fähigkeiten, einschließlich der Identifizierung, Priorisierung und Kommunikation von Problemen.
• Allgemeines und interdisziplinäres Verständnis angrenzender Bereiche wie Buchhaltung, Personalwesen und Fuhrparkmanagement.
• Hands-on-Mentalität runden Ihr Profil ab.

Our international Payroll team is looking for a new talent, starting at the earliest possible time as European Payroll Specialist (m/f/d)

How you’ll add value

In this role, you will oversee payroll delivery in several assigned countries collaborating with ADP payroll vendor and interacting closely with the Human Resources and Benefit Departments. The role reports to the European Payroll Manager and can be locate in either Leipzig (Germany) or Manchester (UK).

What you'll do

• Partner with ADP to prepare monthly payrolls and year end statements for assigned countries of Switzerland and Germany with back up support for France and Belgium.
• Responsible as the main contact for employees in payroll related matters. Respond in a timely manner to payroll-related inquiries from internal and external sources.
• Assist in developing policies and procedures for payroll process and documenting SOPs for all payroll operational processes.
• Ensure the post-payroll activities are completed timely, including labor distribution records, vacation and sick leave accrual, overtime and withholding status.
• Work with payroll and supporting compliance vendors to meet all government reporting requirements for payroll taxes, withholding and employer contributions.
• Support data requests for Audit, HR and Finance departments such as internal controls general ledger queries, employee reports, and statutory filings such as accident insurance, severely disabled levy and life insurance.
• Stay updated on local employment laws , data privacy regulations and tax regulations across countries. Identify and address potential payroll compliance risks.
• Assist with other duties and projects assigned.

What you'll bring

• Degree in a vocational training with additional or advanced training in payroll processing or Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting.
• Several years of experience in payroll accounting.
• Initial experience working with ADP preferred. Workday experience a plus.
• Several years of experience with end-to-end payroll processing and operations.
• Knowledge of Switzerland and German Tax laws and regulations as well as social security regulations and certification processes.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including advanced skills in Microsoft Excel working with large data sets, formulas, and pivot tables.
• Very good knowledge of German and good knowledge of English language; French language skills are a plus.
• Proactive, motivated, and results orientated individual driven and determined to achieve objectives.
• Highly accurate, strong judgement, sensitivity, discretion skills, and affinity for numbers.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team and share information and interact positively with others within the global team.
• Strong organization and planning skills; ability to prioritize tasks.
• Proven analytical and problem-solving skills, including issue identification and prioritization.
• General and interdisciplinary understanding of adjacent areas, such as Accounting, HR, and Fleet Management.
• Hands-on mentality is preferred.
